Our Brand Story

“At our academy, language is not a test, but an experience that adds value to your life. It is a skill that will prepare you for future and open your world to new possibilities”

-Ms. Tanvi Dhingra (CEO- Éclat Academy)

The academy is the brainchild of Ms. Tanvi Dhingra (CEO of Éclat Academy) who, after studying and working abroad, became aware of importance of foreign language learning in today’s fast paced world.

Born and educated in Amritsar, Ms Tanvi realized teaching was her true calling when she was only 18 years old. She went on to study M.A English from the prestigious Delhi University. After completing B.Ed from Delhi University, she was offered the position of English faculty at the prestigious Welham Girls’ School in Dehradun.

She was the youngest teacher the school had ever offered a permanent teaching position to. It was at Welham Girls’ School that Ms Tanvi’s educational quest began. She nurtured the love for English language in her students, all of whom secured excellent grades in their final exams.

Her sojourn in the school lasted two years, after which she relocated to Paris, France. It was during this time that she got the opportunity to learn French and immerse herself in a new culture.

Given her credentials and proficiency in both the languages, she was offered a teaching position at Monceau Langues, a language school located in Champs Elysées, Paris.

At Monceau too, she was the only Indian instructor conducting training workshops for French corporates and students. It was during one of her training sessions with a group of students of mixed nationalities that she was struck by the challenges of cross- cultural communication.

She realised that language was a huge barrier for those who came from developing countries and had no exposure to international languages. They hesitated to express their views for fear of using wrong language, and were therefore, unable to integrate in their new surroundings.

This was a turning point in Ms. Tanvi’s life. She envisioned the masses in her own country, India, most of whom speak only local language or Hindi and harbour dreams of settling, studying or travelling abroad . Moved by the idea of insufficient language learning opportunities for her own countrymen, she relocated to India and set up Éclat Academy in her hometown, Amritsar. She runs this academy together with her father, Mr. Sukhbir Singh Dhingra, who is also the Founder of the academy.

He has assisted Ms. Tanvi in opening the academy so that the city folk would benefit from her exposure, achieve their dreams and bring fame to the city.
